"Inspired by Georgia" Lecture - Friday, June 20th @ 6PM

We've got a great free lecture for all you Wilbur G. Kurtz fans! This Friday, the museum is hosting "Inspired by Georgia" Lecture at 6PM. Guest Lecturer is Spalding Nix who will discuss the history of painting in and of Georgia during the 18th and 19th centuries. This lecture complements our Wilbur G. Beginning with the earliest surviving works of art about Georgia by Philip Georg Friedrich von Reck from the 1730s and finishing with arguably America's premier African American artist at the turn of the century Georgia based Henry Ossawa Tanner, Spalding Nix will discuss the history of painting in & of Georgia during the 18th and 19th centuries.
